It could be the batteries rather than the charger. Sure it saves on the cost of replacing batteries but it is sad when I need to carry the extra set of 2 along as I know my device will need them before too long. Very disappointed in the overall performance. They do not hold a charge very well.Took 2 heavy duty batteries in a comparison test and I found that they lasted longer than my Sony batteries (fully charged).
this charger is not a fast charger. Anyway the Sony charger is a good one if need just a bettery charger. Be carefull. I have an Enegizer 15 min-chager and it works better, if you are looking for speed.
The batteries get a little hot and maybe it's not good for them. Independent circuits and status readout are worth having. No problems with batteries or the charger after 10 months.I wish it was a little *slower*. I also wish they bundled Low-Self-Discharge batteries with this premium quality charger instead of ordinary NiMH batteries.
In any case, it's back to nonrechargeable batteries for me. Now, after about a year, they can't hold a charge for 24 hours and are quickly exhausted in the camera. To be fair, it may not be the fault of this particular product, but a characteristic of rechargeable batteries in general. At first, the batteries were real champions. I have no way of telling whether the fault lies with the charger or with the batteries.
I'll probably send it back. But despite that, I still get half charged batteries. So far I'm not able to charge the batteries that came with it. They warn you that you need to fully decharge the batteries before charging them, which I did using their "reset" function. Also I find it very slow to charge the batteries.
